Deadly Cool- Gemma Halliday

First I find out that my boyfriend is cheating on me. Then he’s pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And now he’s depending on me to clear his name. Seriously?
As much as I wouldn’t mind watching him squirm, I know that he’s innocent. So I’m brushing off my previously untapped detective skills and getting down to business. But I keep tripping over dead bodies and I’m still no closer to figuring out who did it. And what’s worse: all signs seem to point to me as the killer’s next victim.
I really need to pick a better boyfriend next time.

The Review
3 3/4 Stars
It was a light quick read with a quirky friendship that will make you laugh and giggle at their conversations. Sam and Hart have the cutest friendship. They are fun and they have a sweet friendship. Their friendship is great and Sam even goes with Hart to confront Hart's ex-boyfriend when she learns about his cheating. With the president of Chasity Club no less! Guess she wasn't as "clean" as she claimed. Sam and Hart sneak into Josh's bedroom to find Courtney Cline in Hart's boyfriend's closet. She isn't hiding. She's dead. Hart has found her dead and now wherever she goes people stare at her. And what's worse is that Josh is the number one suspect in Courtney's murder case. Josh asks Hart for help in proving his innocence. Hart agrees and along the way Hart and Sam meet Chase, the school's resident bad boy. I wish Hart and Chase would've solidified their relationship but alas they did not. I also didn't like who killed Courtney and I don't like how Josh treats Hart. He's emotionally abusive. Chase isn't. Just throwing that out there.
