The Quote-
Noah inhaled and slowly let the air out. His stance softened and so did he voice. "If you're scared, tell me. If you need to cry and scream, then do it. And you sure as heck don't walk away from us because you think it would be better for me. Here's the reality, Echo: I want to be by your side. If you want to go through the mall stark naked so you can show the world your scars, then let me hold your hand. If you want to see your mom, then tell me that, too. I may not always understand, but dang, baby, I'll try."
The Review
4 1/2 Stars.
There was a grand total of two errors. Error 1- Grammar. Some of the grammar was wrong and words were repeated. Error 2- Word choice. Some of the words weren't needed. Other than that the book was perfect. I loved it. This was an almost perfect book. The characters were flawless. They held so much emotion in their heads and in their hearts. Some of Echo and Noah's inner thoughts, had me crying. Like grab a tissue and walk into the other room, crying. It was a wonderful and magical read. Some of the language wasn't necessary but when you grow up in an environment like Noah did, harsh words are bound to come out of it. When you go through what Echo went through, sometimes you don't want to speak the words that, in the end, will hold you back form everything and everyone you desire. Noah's parents died and his family got split apart. Now Noah's about to graduate and he wants his brothers to be given back to him and placed under his care. But what he didn't realize is that his brothers are fine where they are. They just need their brother to be allowed to visit more.
Echo has a dysfunctional life. Her dad married her nanny, her nanny is having a baby, her brother died, and her mother went crazy. I felt so bad for her, she had to go through so much, but somehow she stayed strong where it counted. She didn't fall apart. And she didn't give in when society wouldn't accept her and her scars. Somehow they both survive and they come closer together. They fall in love and the book comes to a great conclusion.
I loved the book. And I really hope there's going to be a sequel about Isaiah and Beth.
